History

Nottingham Drum Centre opened in December 1999,and was the realization of a long held dream by childhood friends Andrew Cammiss and David Fletcher. At the time,David was busy teaching Drums in Nottingham and Andrew was drumming professionally in the middle east but looking to settle back in Nottingham. Premises were found on Southwell Road in the City Centre and the renovation process began! By mid December of that year, the shop was up and running, stocking most of the big-name brands and already getting a reputation as a store where drummers of all levels could get expert advice and friendly service from fellow drummers. As time went on,the store expanded into the premises next door, and became the East Midlands largest drum store, and in time a guitar department was added.Once again the business went from strength to strength and attracted a customer base not only from Nottingham but also surrounding areas such as Derby,Leicester,Sheffield,Lincoln etc.

Once again the business outgrew its premises, and relocation seemed the only answer. Our current showroom on Cranbrook street (just a stones throw from the Trent FM arena) was purchased and after months of hard work the doors finally opened in January 2008.The trading name became Nottingham Drum and Guitar Centre,as our guitar business had expanded rapidly. We believe that we now have one of the best showrooms in the UK,stocked with huge quantities of top brand instruments at competitive prices, and staffed by a knowledgable and enthusiastic sales team. Our city centre store now houses 2 floors of drums, cymbals and percussion,a dedicated electronic drum room, guitar racks from floor to ceiling and an acoustic area. In the Autumn of 2008 we were honoured to win the Arts Councils "Musical instrument retailer of the year" award at the prestigious Music Industies Award ceremony in London. The incredible sucess of our store is down to customer satisfaction.

Whether you purchase from us in store, or via our Drum and Strum website,we hope you will be happy with your instrument and the service you have recieved.
